How much does it cost to hire an Instagram influencer in India?

A fair price for one Instagram Reel in India is about ₹1,500–₹3,000 from a creator with 10,000 followers, ₹6,500–₹14,000 at 1 lakh followers, ₹30,000–₹81,000 at 10 lakh and ₹92,000–₹2.45 lakh at 50 lakh, in line with what Indian creators actually ask. A story costs about a third of a Reel and a feed post about 60%.

Hypee prices a Reel on views: ₹500 to make it, plus ₹1.50 per view for the first 10,000 views, ₹1 per view up to 1 lakh and 60 paise per view after that. A creator whose Reels get more views than usual for their size costs more; weak views or engagement cost less. A premium niche such as finance or tech, using the video in your ads (+40% for 90 days) and exclusivity (+20% for 30 days) raise it; packages of 3 or more pieces usually cost less.

How we checked the big-account numbers

Above 1 lakh followers, published Indian rates disagree by up to 10×. Agency rate cards quote high; what creators on Hypee actually ask, and InfluencerMetric's benchmarks, are much lower. Hypee's estimate follows the real asking rates, so brands don't overpay.

How the estimate works

The formula
Reel price = ₹500 to make the video + expected views × rate per view. The rate per view falls in slabs, like a bulk discount: ₹1.50 for the first 10,000 views, ₹1 for views up to 1 lakh, 60 paise after that. It is fitted to what Indian creators actually ask (Hypee creators and InfluencerMetric's benchmarks), not to agency rate cards, which quote several times higher.
Average Reel views
The core of the price, because brands pay for views. If you know the creator's average views, enter them. If not, the calculator uses what's normal for the size: about 13% of followers at 5K, 6% at 1 lakh, 4% at 50 lakh. So a 50K account averaging 50K views costs more than a 5 lakh account averaging 10K.
Engagement
Judged against what's normal for the size (about 4% at 5K followers, 2% at 2 lakh, 1% at 50 lakh). Higher engagement raises expected views by the square root of the ratio: double the typical rate is about +40% views, half is about −30%, within 0.4×–1.8×. The same 3% is high for a 10 lakh account and low for a 5K one.
City
Creators in metros (Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru…) usually charge about 20% more than Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Niche
Finance +50%, tech and business +35%, luxury +30%, health +25%, beauty +15%; comedy and entertainment −15%, because more creators compete for the same brands.
Content
A Reel is the base. A story is about 35% of a Reel, a feed post about 60%. UGC videos made only for your ads are priced per video.
Ad usage rights
Running the creator's video as your own ad: +25% for 30 days up to +85% for a year, on Reels and posts.
Exclusivity
Asking the creator not to work with competing brands: +20% for 30 days, +35% for 90 days.
Packages
3 or more pieces from one creator: about 20% off, the cautious end of typical package discounts.

Indian rate cards disagree widely, especially above 1 lakh followers, and no independent study of Indian creator fees exists. Read every figure as a starting point for negotiation, and judge a creator on their real Reel views.

Influencer cost FAQ

What brands ask when they budget a campaign.

How much does an Instagram influencer cost in India?

A fair price is about ₹1,500–₹3,000 per Reel at 10,000 followers, ₹6,500–₹14,000 at 1 lakh and ₹30,000–₹81,000 at 10 lakh followers. Real Reel views matter most; engagement, niche, city, ad usage rights and exclusivity move it up or down.

Can a small creator charge more than a bigger one?

Yes, when their Reels get more views. A 50K account averaging 50K views is worth about ₹56,000 per Reel, more than a 5 lakh account averaging 10K views (₹16,000). Brands pay for views, not followers.

How much does a creator with 50 lakh followers charge?

About ₹92,000–₹2.45 lakh per Reel at typical engagement. Strong views push it higher; weak engagement can halve it.

How much does a nano influencer charge per Reel in India?

A fair price for a 1K–10K creator is roughly ₹600–₹1,000 to ₹1,500–₹3,000 per Reel. On Hypee, creators that size list a median of ₹2,000 (asking rates, 11 Oct 2026).

How much extra do usage rights cost?

Running a creator's video as your ad typically adds 15–30% for 30 days, 30–45% for 90 days and 70–100% for a year. The calculator uses +25%, +40% and +85%.

How much does a UGC video cost in India?

About ₹3,000–₹15,000 per finished video, usually with usage rights included, whatever the creator's follower count.

How much do celebrity influencers charge in India?

Creators with 10 lakh to 1 crore followers usually fall between about ₹30,000 and ₹3.9 lakh per Reel. Film stars and cricketers are a different market and can charge crores per post, negotiated through managers.
