How Much Does Influencer Marketing Cost in India? (2026 Rates)

By Vedant Padmawar, Founder, Hypee·Published ·7 min read

Influencer marketing in India can cost anything from a free product to several lakh rupees per post. For small brands, the useful numbers are these: across creators listing rates on Hypee (11 October 2026), the median asking rate for one Reel is about ₹800 under 1,000 followers, ₹2,000 for nano creators (1K–10K) and ₹5,000 for micro creators (10K–50K). A test campaign with five nano creators costs roughly ₹10,000, or less with barter.

What makes the price go up or down

  • • Deliverable: a Reel costs most, then a feed post, then a story (about a quarter to a third of a Reel).
  • • Usage rights: running the creator's video as your own ad costs extra, and more for longer periods.
  • • Exclusivity: asking a creator not to work with competitors adds to the fee.
  • • Niche: specialist audiences such as finance, tech and beauty usually cost more.
  • • Barter: many smaller creators accept a product or service instead of, or as well as, cash.
  • • GST: creators registered for GST add it to their invoice.

Cheaper alternatives to a big influencer

For a small brand, one big influencer is usually the most expensive way to learn what works. Ten small creators give you ten different videos, ten audiences and real data on which message sells, often for the price of one larger post.

UGC videos are another option: you pay a creator to make videos you post on your own page or run as ads, without them posting at all.

How to spend less and get more

On Hypee, you can post up to 3 campaigns free, see applicants ranked by fit, and send your offer with the approval. Brands pay creators directly by UPI or bank transfer, and Hypee takes 0% commission.

  • • Start with 5 nano creators, not 1 big one, and track which posts bring sales or visits.
  • • Offer barter plus a small fee instead of cash only.
  • • Agree deliverables, post date and usage rights in writing before anyone films.
  • • Re-book the creators who worked; repeat partnerships are usually cheaper per post.
